Is Cardura Beneficial For Enlarged Prostate?
Cardura is a prescription medication of the alpha blocker type, that has two uses: to lower blood pressure and to treat BPH (enlarged prostate).
Cardura works by blocking some nerves to certain prostate and bladder muscles so that the muscles can relax. This has the effect of increasing the flow of your urine – something that is a major problem when you have an enlarged prostate because the urethra narrows.
Side effects of Cardura
As with most prescription medications, there may be some side effects when you use Cardura. This can include drowsiness, fatigue and dizziness. Other more serious and rare side effects can be a painful and persistent erection, and allergic reactions.
It needs to be noted that Cardura does not shrink your prostate down to its normal size but it has the goal of reliving symptoms. Therefore Cardura is not a cure for BPH, but it can be beneficial for symptom relief.
